Let the measures of two complementary angles be x° and y° (x° > y°).
Since among the angles x° and y° one is complementary angles, therefore
x° + y° = 90° . . . (1) . . [By definition of complementary angles]
Since the difference in the measures of x° and y° (x° > y°) is 12°,
Therefore, x° – y° = 12° . . . (2)
Adding equation (1) and (2)
2x° = 102°
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} x° = {tex}\frac{102^{\circ}}{2}{/tex} = {tex}51^{o}{/tex}
Subtracting equation (2) from equation (1),
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} y° = {tex}\frac{78^{\circ}}{2}{/tex}= 39o
Hence, the measures of the angles are 51° and 39°.

Multiples of 24 are 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144, .....
Hence, the smallest 3-digit number which is exactly divisible by 6, 8 and 12 is 120.

p = numerator, q= denominator, where p and q are integers and q ≠0

Q: If x+y= 7 & xy=12 then the value x³ +y³
Explanation is as follows:
(x+y)^3=x^3+3x^2y+3xy^2+y^3
= x^3+y^3+3xy(x+y)
x^3+y^3=(x+y)^3-3xy(x+y)
= (12)^3-3(27)(12)
=1728-972
x^3+y^3=756

19 men take 21 days working 15/2 hours per day.
Hours per day 45 men will take to complete in 7 days will be:
if 19 men = 15/2 hours
then 45 men = 19/45 hours ( this because the 45 men will take less hours per day, hence you use the lesser fraction of the two values)
if 21 days = 15/2 hours per day
then 7 days= 21/7 (this because the hours required will be more, hence you use the larger fraction of the two values)
therefore the calculation is = 15/2 x 19/45 x 21/7
= (15x19x21)/(2x45x7)
= 19/2
= 9.5 hours per day
