64x6−y6 = (4x2)3−y6
Rewrite y6 as (y2)3
.(4x2)3−(y2)3
Since both terms are perfect cubes, factor using the difference of cubes formula, a3−b3=(a−b)(a2+ab+b2) where a=4x2 and b=y2
(4x2−y2)((4x2)2+4x2y2+(y2)2)
(2x+y)(2x−y)(4x2+y2+2xy)(4x2+y2−2xy)
