The trapezium is a quadrilateral with two parallel sides. The parallel sides of a trapezium are called bases and the non-parallel sides of a trapezium are called legs. It is also called as a trapezoid. Sometimes the parallelogram is also called as a trapezoid with two parallel sides.

The trapezium is further categorised into three different types namely

  • Isosceles trapezium – The legs or the non-parallel sides of the trapezium are of equal length
  • Scalene Trapezium – A trapezium with all the sides and angles of different measures
  • Right Trapezium – A right trapezium has at least two right angles

Let the 1st part be x
2nd part be 40-x
A/Q. (3/4)x=(3/8)×(40-x)
=>(3/4)x =(120-3x)/8
=>24x =480-12x
=>24x+12x =480
=>36x =480
=>x =480/36
=>x =13.33
Therefore 1st part =13.33
2nd part =40-13.33=26.67

Additive inverse that is basically the distance from zero. In basic term it means changing the sing from + to - or - to +

In Additive inverse only sings are changed

In mathematics, the additive inverse of a number a is the number that, when added to a, yields zero. ... For a real number, it reverses its sign: the opposite to a positive number is negative, and the opposite to a negative number is positive. Zero is the additive inverse of itself. Loosely speaking, an additive inverse of a field element a is an element b such that a+b=b+a=0. It turns out that only one additive inverse exists for each element. For example, over the rational numbers, the additive inverse of 25 is −25 and the additive inverse of −5 is 5.

Algebraic expression

An algebraic expression is a mathematical expression that consists of variables, numbers and operations. The value of this expression can change.

For example, 2(3 + 8) is a numeric expressionAlgebraic expressions include at least one variable and at least one operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). For example, 2(x + 8y) is an algebraic expression.

Given:

Principal (P) = ₹ 26,400, Time (n)= 2 years 4 months, Rate of interest (R) = 15% p.a.

Amount for 2 years (A) = P(1+R/100)^n

=26400(1+15/100)²

= 26400(1+3/20)²

=  26400(23/20)²

= 26400(23/20)×(23/20

=  (264×23×23)/4= 66×23×23

= ₹34,914

Interest for 4 months= 4/12=1/3

Interest for 1/3 years at the rate of 15% = (34914×15×1)/3×100

= (34914×5)/100

= ₹ 174570/100

= ₹ 1745.70

Total amount = ₹ 34,914 + ₹ 1,745.70

= ₹ 36,659.70

The amount  she will pay at the end of 2 years and 4 months to clear the loan=  ₹ 36,659.70

(i) We have 243 = 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3

The prime factor 3 is not a group of three.
∴ 243 is  not a perfect cube.
Now, [243] x 3 = [3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3] x 3
or, 729, = 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3
Now, 729 becomes a [perfect cube
Thus, the smallest required number to multipkly 243 to make it a perfect cube is 3.

(ii) We have 256 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

Grouping the prime factors of 256 in triples, we are left over with 2 x 2.
∴ 256 is  not a perfect cube.
Now, [256] x 2 = [2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2] x 2
or, 512 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2
i.e. 512 is a perfect cube.
thus, the required smallest number is 2.

(iii) we  have 72  = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3

Grouping the prime factors of 72 in triples, we are left  over with 3 x 3
∴ 72 is  not a perfect cube.
Now, [72] x 3 = [2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3] x 3
or,     216 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 3
i.e. 216 is a perfect  cube
∴ The smallest number required to multiply 72 to make it a perfect cube is 3.

(iv) We have 675 = 3 x 3 x 3 x 5 x 5
Grouping the prime factors of 675 to triples, we are left over with 5 x 5

∴  675 is not a perfect cube.
Now, [675] x 5 = [3 x 3 x 3 x 5 x 5] x 5
Now, 3375  is a  perfect cube
Thus, the smallest required number to multiply 675 such that the new number is a perfect cube is 5.

(v) We have 100 = 2 x 2 x 5 x 5
The prime factor are not in the groups of triples.

∴  100 is not a perfect cube.
Now, [100] x 2 x 5 = [2 x 2 x 5 x 5] x 2 x 5
or,   [100] x 10 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5 x 5

1000 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5 x 5

Now, 1000 is a perfect cube
Thus, the required smallest number is 10

The numbers are 40 and 55

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 8 months ago

Let the first number be x
second number be (x+15) // one exceed other by 15 //
sum of the number is  given by x+(x+15) = 95
x+x+15=95
2x+15 = 95
2x =95-15
2x = 80
x=80/2
x =40
first number x=40, second number x+15 = 40+15= 55
The numbers are 40 and 55.
