X square + 10x +21 = X square + 4x + 81 Step 1 - > x square - x square + 10x - 4x = 81 - 21 [ By transposing I have bought x square and 4x left side ] Step 2 - > 6x = 60 [ x square - x square is 0 and 10x - 4x is 6x ] Step 3 -> x = 60/6 = 10 Therefore value of x = 10

A rational number between 3 and 4 is 1/2 (3 + 4) = 7/2.
Then, 3 < 7/2 < 4
A rational number between 3 and 7/2 = 1/2 {3 + 7/2} = 1/2 (3/1 + 7/2)
= 1/2 ((6 + 7)/2) = (1/2 × 13/2) = 13/4
A rational number between 7/2 and 4 = 1/2 {7/2 + 4} = 1/2 (7/2 + 4/1)
= 1/2 ((7 + 8)/2) = {1/2 × 15/2} = 15/4
Therefore, 3 < 13/4 < 7/2 < 15/4 < 4
Hence, 13/4, 7/2 and 15/4 are the three rational numbers lying between 3 and 4.

1. 3x=2x+18

3x - 2x = 18
x = 18
2. 2y+5/3=26/3-y

2y + y = 26/3 - 5/3
3y = (26 - 5)/3
3y = 21/3
3y = 7
y = 7/3

3. x=4/5(x+10

5x = 4(x + 10)
5x = 4x + 40
5x - 4x = 40
x = 40

Given details are, Rate = 5 % per annum Compound Interest (CI) = Rs 164 Time (t) = 2 years By using the formula, Let P be ‘x’ CI = A – P 164 = P (1 + R/100) n – P = P [(1 + R/100)n – 1] = x [(1 + 5/100)2 – 1] = x [(105/100)2 – 1] 164 = x ((1.05)2 – 1) x = 164 / ((1.05)2 – 1) x = 164 / ((1.05)2 – 1) = 164/0.1025 = Rs 1600 ∴ The required sum is Rs 1600
