The properties are the commutative, associative, identity and distributive properties. Commutative Property: When two numbers are added, the sum is the same regardless of the order of the addends. ... Identity Property: The sum of any number and zero is the original number. The word "associative" comes from "associate" or "group"; the Associative Property is the rule that refers to grouping. For addition, the rule is "a + (b + c) = (a + b) + c"; in numbers, this means 2 + (3 + 4) = (2 + 3) + 4. For multiplication, the rule is "a(bc) = (ab)c"; in numbers, this means 2(3×4) = (2×3)4.

Put x = -2 /3 and y = 1/4
( x+ y ) ÷ ( x- y )
= (-2/3 + 1/4) ÷ (-2/3 - 1/4)
= (-8+3)/12 ÷ (--8-3)/12
= -5/12 ÷ -11/12
= -5/12 × 12/-11
= 5/11

Let the three odd numbers be x,[x+2], and [x+4] which gives 63 when they are summed.
i.e; x+x+2+x+4=63;
3x+6=63;
3x=63-6;
3x=57;
x=57/3;
x=19.
therefore, x+2 = 19+2; x+2= 21.
x+4 = 19+4; x+4 = 23.
Hence 19, 21 and 23 are the three consecutive odd numbers which give 63 when adding these numbers.

We know that even numbers have a difference of 2. Therefore, let the smallest number be x.
x+x+2+x+4=30
3x+6=30
3(x+2)=30
x+2=10
x=8
x+2=10
x+4=12

Integer triples which satisfy this equation are Pythagorean triples. The most well known examples are (3,4,5) and (5,12,13). Notice we can multiple the entries in a triple by any integer and get another triple. For example (6,8,10), (9,12,15) and (15,20,25).
How to Form a Pythagorean Triplet
- If the number is odd: Square the number N and then divide it by 2. Take the integer that is immediately before and after that number i.e. (N2/2 -0.5) and (N2/2 +0.5). ...
- If the number is even: Take the half of that number N and then square it. Pythagorean triplet= N, (N/2)2-1, (N/2)2+1.

(1)A rough sketch of this quadrilateral can be drawn as follows.
(2) Draw a line segment DE of 4 cm and an angle of 60º at point E. As vertex A is 5 cm away from vertex E, cut a line segment EA of 5 cm from this ray.
(3) Again draw an angle of 90º at point A. As vertex R is 4.5 cm away from vertex A, cut a line segment RA of 4.5 cm from this ray.
(4) Join D to R.
DEAR is the required quadrilateral.

From this we come to know that the square root of the given number (4000) is greater than 632 632 = 3969 |
4000 - 3969 = 31
In order to convert the given number as the square of 63, we have to subtract 31.
Hence 31 is the least number to be subtracted from 4000 to get a perfect square.

4x -7 - ( x+4) = 3x + 4 - ( 2x - 1)
4x - 7 - x - 4 = 3x + 4 - 2x + 1
3x - 11 = x + 5
3x - x = 5 + 11
2x = 16
x = 16/2 = 8
