Ques: A man got a 10% increase in his salary. if his new salary is 1,54,000. find his original salary. Answer: In this question the we have to find the original salary after there is increment of 10% in the salary. Let the man salary be before increment= x There is 10% increase in the salary= x+ (10/100)x = x + 0.1 x = 1.1x Increased salary = 154000 Therefore 1.1 x = 154000 x = 154000/1.1= 1,40,000 Hence the original salary was 1,40,000

Ques: A man got a 10% increase in his salary. if his new salary is 1,54,000. find his original salary.

Answer:

In this question the we have to find the original salary after there is increment of 10% in the salary.
Let the man salary be before increment= x
There is 10% increase in the salary= x+ (10/100)x
                                                         = x + 0.1 x
                                                          = 1.1x
Increased salary = 154000
Therefore 1.1 x = 154000 x
                        = 154000/1.1= 1,40,000
Hence the original salary was 1,40,000

Principal (P) = Rs 62,500

Rate = 8% per annum or 4% per half year

Number of years = 1 1/2

There will be 3 half years in 1 1/2 years.

A = p(1 + R/100)n = Rs [62500(1 + 4/100)3]

= Rs (62500 x 26/25 x 26/25 x26/25)

= Rs 70304

C.I. = A − P = Rs 70304 − Rs 62500 = Rs 7,804
