Given:
- Cost price of watch is Rs 135.
- Overhead expenses on watch is Rs 5.
- Selling Price of watch is Rs 154.
Solution: Total cost price of watch = (Original price + Overhead expense )
➟ Total C.P of watch = Rs (135 + 5) = Rs 140
And, The S.P of watch is Rs 154.
On Comparing both S.P and C.P we get
➢ S.P > C.P { Hence, There is Profit }
Profit = Selling Price – Cost Price
Profit = Rs (154 – 140)
Profit = Rs 14
Now, we have to find the profit percent :
Profit % = (Profit/C.P x 100) %
Profit % = ( 14/140 x 100)%
Profit % = ( 1400/140 ) %
Profit % = 10 %
Hence, The the profit percent made by retailer is 10%.

When working with exponents, the only way to get negative results is to raise a negative number to an odd power. Since cubing a number means raising it to the 3rd power—which is odd—the cube roots of negative numbers must also be negative.
This applies to perfect cubes and estimating other cube roots. Let's look at a perfect cube example because it's easier to write out. We are going to find 3√−64.
−4=(−4)1 is negative−4×−4=(−4)2=16 is positive−4×−4×−4=(−4)3=−64 is negative

SP = Rs 5225
Let MP be x
discount = 5% of x
=(5/100)x = 0.05x
SP = MP - discount
⇒5225 = x - 0.05x
⇒0.95x = 5225
⇒x = 5225/0.95 = 5500
∴MP = Rs 5500

The discount method refers to the sale of a bond at a discount to its face value, so that an investor can realize a greater effective interest rate. This approach yields a higher effective interest rate to the lender, since the interest payment is calculated based on a higher amount than was paid to the lender. Remember the formula for finding the discount price of an item. Where S = sale price, r = discount percentage rate and p = original price, the discount formula is: S = p - rp.

The weight of 12 sheets of thick paper =40 grams
Therefore,
The weight of one sheet x=3.33 grams
Therefore,
The given total weight=
=2.5 kg

The value of present = Rs 2,32,000
i) After an year = Rs 2,32,000 + 16% of Rs 2,32,000
= Rs 2,32,000 + 16/100 * Rs 2,32,000
= Rs 2,32,000 + Rs 37,120
= Rs 2,69,120
Hence, the value of land after an year is Rs 2,69,120.
ii) Earlier an year = Rs 2,32,000 - 16% of Rs 2,32,000
= Rs 2,32,000 - 16/100 * Rs 2,32,000
= Rs 2,32,000 - Rs 37,120
= Rs 1,94,880
Hence, the value of the land earlier an year was Rs 1,94,880.
