The river basin drains portions of Brazil, parts of Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Columbia and a small part of Venezuela. Some of the detailed features of this region are as under:
Climate:
The Amazon Basin stretches directly on the equator and is characterized by hot and wet climate throughout the year. It rains almost every day here. The temperature during the day is very high; the humidity is also high during the day. The temperature at night decreases, but there is high humidity. Hence, both the day and night are almost equally hot and humid.

Small farmers have no capital and have to arrange for capital by taking loans from large famers on a very high interest rate. In addition, the banks do not provide them with loans because they lack proper documents and collaterals such as house, livestock or nay other property to guarantee to obtain a loan.
So the repayment of loan is crucially dependent on the income from farming. If there is failure in crop production then the repayment of the loan will become impossible. Hence, the small farmers have to sell part of the land to repay the loan. Credit instead of helping the small farmers made the situation still more worst and pushed the borrower into debt trap.

The major challenges to democracy are:
The foundational challenge involves transitioning from a non-democratic to a democratic form of government. It means keeping power in the hands of civilians instead of military and establishing a sovereign state. It also means granting basic rights associated with democratic governance to citizens.
The challenge of expansion consists of the application of democratic principles to all social groups, across regions and institutionalising democracy. Expansion includes taking democracy to grassroots through local governments, empowering women and minorities as well as applying federal principles to ensure autonomous decision-making and decentralisation.
Deepening of democracy is the challenge of strengthening the practices and institutions that uphold democracy. This challenge focuses on the expectations of the people in different societies. These expectations are bound to vary and therefore, it needs to be viewd in the different contexts.

Baba Guru Nanak was the first- Sikh Guru. He preached simple things and laid stress on simplicity. He emphasised the importance of worship of one God. He insisted that caste, creed or gender was irrelevant for attaining liberation. His idea of liberation was not that of a state of inert bliss but rather the pursuit of active life with a strong sense of social commitment. He himself used the terms nam, dan and isnan for the essence of his teaching, which actually meant right worship, welfare of others and purity of conduct. His teachings also include the importance of right belief and worship, honest living and helping others. Thus, Guru Nanak's teachings contained the idea of social and political equality.

he Bhakti movement refers to the theistic devotional trend that emerged in medieval Hinduism. It originated in eighth-century south India (now Tamil Nadu and Kerala), and spread northwards. It swept over east and north India from the 15th century onwards, reaching its zenith between the 15th and 17th century CE.
The Bhakti movement regionally developed around different gods and goddesses, and some sub-sects were Vaishnavism (Vishnu), Shaivism (Shiva), Shaktism (Shakti goddesses), and Smartism. Bhakti movement preached using the local languages so that the message reached the masses. The movement was inspired by many poet-saints, who championed a wide range of philosophical positions ranging from theistic dualism of Dvaita to absolute monism of Advaita Vedanta.
The movement has traditionally been considered as an influential social reformation in Hinduism, and provided an individual-focused alternative path to spirituality regardless of one's birth or gender. The Bhakti movement began with the aim of reforming Hinduism.
