Radhiyah bint Iltutmish or popularly known as Razia Sultana (Persian: رَضِيَه سُلْطَان), known in Arabic: رَضِيَة بِنْت إِلْتُتْمِش‎; c. 1205 – 14 October 1240) was the empress regnant of the Delhi Sultanate from 10 October 1236 to 14 October 1240. A member of the Mamluk dynasty, she is known for being one of the few women in history to have ruled a large empire[1] and the first sovereign female ruler in both Islamic and Indian history.[2] An efficient ruler, according to Persian historian Minhaj-i-Siraj, she was sagacious, just, beneficent, the patron of the learned, a dispenser of justice, the cherisher of her subjects, and of warlike talent, and endowed with all the admirable attributes and qualifications necessary for a monarch. She is also famous for her romantic involvement and legends with her lover and later husband, Malik Ikhtiar-ud-din Altunia, a ruler of Bengal and Bhatinda.[3] At the zenith of Razia's power, her empire included large parts of today's modern Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

Zabt was a land revenue system that was framed during the Mughal period. This system included taking a careful survey of crop yields and prices cultivated for a 10 year period. On this basis tax was fixed on each crop in cash. Each province was divided into revenue circles with their own rates of revenue and a schedule of individual crops. Tides are useful because : 1. Tides help to navigate.' 2. During high tide , the saline sea water is stored in low lying coastal areas. This saline sea water is spread out in the fields and is used to make common salt. 3. During high tide the fished come to the coast. This makes it really easy for the fishermen to catch the fish without having to go into the open water. 4. The energy of tides is used to generate electricity. Tidal power stations have been set up in UK , Japan , France and Canada. 5. Tides help to clear the sediments deposited by rivers on their beds and thus prevents siltation of harbours. ( Siltation is the process by which water becomes dirty as a result of fine mineral particles in the water.)

Humankind gradually evolved from early members of the genus Homo—such as Homo habilis, who used simple stone tools—into anatomically modern humans as well as behaviourally modern humans by the Upper Paleolithic.[4] During the end of the Paleolithic Age, specifically the Middle or Upper Paleolithic Age, humans began to produce the earliest works of art and began to engage in religious and spiritual behavior such as burial and ritual.[5][6] The climate during the Paleolithic Age consisted of a set of glacial and interglacial periods in which the climate periodically fluctuated between warm and cool temperatures. Archaeological and genetic data suggest that the source populations of Paleolithic humans survived in sparsely wooded areas and dispersed through areas of high primary productivity while avoiding dense forest cover.[7]

Mongol attacks on the Delhi Sultanate increased during the reign of Alauddin Khaiji and in the early years of Muhammad Tughluq's rule. Hence, a vast standing army was established under these two rulers to confront Mongol invasions. Alauddin constructed a new garrison town named Siri for his soldiers. He also started paying them salaries in cash rather than iqtas. He controlled the prices of goods in Delhi. Muhammad Tughluq also paid his soldiers cash salaries. But instead of controlling prices, he used a 'token7 currency, made out of cheap metals. He did so in order- to mobilise resources to fight Mongol army. Alauddin also made his administrative system very effective. Hence, he successfully withstood the threat of Mongol invasions. But Muhammad's administrative measures were a failure. He planned to attack the Mongol capital named Transoxiana. But soon he gave up it. His administrative measures created complications. The shifting of people to Dautabad was resented.

Learning alphabet was so important to these women because only after learning alphabet they were capable of writing stories, letters and autobiographies which described their own experiences of inequality..

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 2 months ago

Learning the alphabet was important to women like Rashundari Devi, Ramabai and Rokeya because women were forbidden education as it was considered dangerous for their moral development and family life. By learning how to read and write, these women achieved a degree of independence. Through her own writing, Rashsundari Devi gave the world an opportunity to read about women’s lives in those days. Ramabai set up a Mission in Khedgaon near Pune in 1898, where widows and poor women were encouraged not only to become literate but to be independent. Rokeya started a school for girls in Kolkata in 1910.

The cycle in which one type of rock changes into another under certain conditions in a cyclic manner is known as the rock cycle

Gaurav Seth 6 years, 2 months ago

One type of rock changes to another under specific conditions in a cyclical manner. This process of transformation of rocks from one to another is known as the rock cycle.

When molten magma cools, it solidifies to become igneous rocks are broken down into smaller particles that are transported and deposited to form sedimentary rocks.

When igneous and sedimentary rocks are subjected to heat and pressure, they change into metamorphic rocks, which are still under heat and pressure melt down to form molten magma. This molten magma cools down to form igneous rocks, and so the cycle repeats.
