The particles in these fluids can move from place to place. Convection occurs when particles with a lot of heat energy in a liquid or gas move and take the place of particles with less heat energy. Heat energy is transferred from hot places to cooler places by convection. Liquids and gases expand when they are heated.

We prefer a convex mirror as a rear-view mirror in vehicles because it gives a wider field of view, which allows the driver to see most of the traffic behind him. Convex mirrors always form a virtual, erect, and diminished image of the objects placed in front of it.

In plane mirror, object distance and image distance are equal.

That is, v = u

v is the distance of image from mirror.

u is the distance of object from mirror.

Given v =6 m so u = 6 m.

Therefore, total distance between object and image = v + u = 12 m.

Now as per question, person moves 2 m towards mirror, then,

v = u = 6 - 2= 4 m.

Thus, distance between the person and his image would be, 4 +4 = 8 m.
