The atmosphere is the skin of air around the earth. The quick version is that the first atmosphere came from volcanoes and was mostly water and carbon dioxide. As it cooled down it rained and made the oceans and a lot of the carbon dioxide dissolved. Later some types of algae started making oxygen, until eventually the atmosphere was like it is today.
When the earth formed it was so hot the rock was molten, like lava all over. There were lots of chemical reactions that made gases, but they were stripped away by the strong wind that comes out of the sun (solar wind) very quickly. When earth cooled a bit it formed a crust but there were still lots of volcanoes, gases came from them to form the first atmosphere. It was mostly water – the earth was so hot there were no oceans and the water was all steam and clouds.

Anything that has both mass and volume is called matter. Particles of matter have space between them. Force of attraction between particles of matter keeps the particles bonded together. There are three states of matter – solid, liquid and gas.
Matters which have fixed volume and shape are called solids.
Matters which have fixed volume but indefinite shape are called liquids.
Matters which do not have fixed volume and definite shape are called gases.

Peristaltic movement is the contraction and relaxation of the muscles in the food pipe which brings the food down the pipe and into the stomach. The food from mouth after swallowing passes into oesophagus and is pushed down to stomach by a special movement called peristalsis. This peristaltic movement takes place through out the alimentary canal which pushes the food in downwards direction. At some times the stomach is not ready to take up food causing vomiting, where food is expelled out from the oesophagus to mouth by reverse peristaltic movement.

The inner walls of small intestine have millions of tiny, finger-like outgrowths called villi which increase the surface area for rapid absorption of digested food. Each villus has a network of blood vessels which absorbs the digested food materials into the blood flowing through them.

Food is the most important and basic thing for life. Carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals are the components of food. These components are necessary for all living beings. All plants and animals require food for their growth and getting energy. The process of utilization of food by an animal to obtain energy for growth and development is known as nutrition. Plants make their food themselves but animals cannot. Hence, animals depend directly or indirectly on the plant.

There are many animals that bear a thick coat of hair on their body. Such animals generally live in cold climates. Thick coat of hair over the body of such animals traps lot of air and keeps them warm as air is a bad conductor of heat. Angora wool is obtained from Angora Goats. Angora Goats are found in hilly regions, such as Jammu and Kashmir.
