- On the basis of their chemical composition, substances can be classified either as elements or compounds.
- An atom is the smallest particle of an element which takes part in a chemical reaction.
- An element can be defined as a basic form of matter which cannot be broken down into simpler substances by any physical or chemical means.A compound is a pure substance composed of two or more elements combined chemically in a fixed proportion by mass.

- Absorption is taking simple molecules, which were produced as a result of digestion into the body (blood stream/lymph) from the intestinal cavity. Assimilation is making new compounds from the absorbed molecules, which are necessary for normal cell functioning or to produce energy.
- Absorption is mainly taking place at the small intestine. Assimilation is taking place in the liver or any other cell.
- In absorption, nutrients are added to the blood stream or lymph, but in assimilation, nutrients are taken out from the blood stream/ lymph.

When we inhale air containing dust particles, the particles get trapped in the hair present in out nostrils. Sometimes, these particles may pass through the hair and enter the nasal cavity. The irritate the mucus lining of the nasal cavity, and as a result we sneeze. Sneezing expels the foreign particles from the inhaled air and dust-free clean air enters our body.

Mud houses have thatched roofs.The insulating effect of the thatch prevents heat getting in very quickly (cool in summer) and heat getting out very quickly (warm in winter).
Secondly, mud houses are made up of mud, which has large pores. So the evaporation is more in mud houses. As evaporation causes cooling, mud houses feel cooler in summers.
