Dialysis is the artificial process of eliminating waste (diffusion) and unwanted water (ultrafiltration) from the blood. Our kidneys do this naturally. Some people, however, may have failed or damaged kidneys which cannot carry out the function properly - they may need dialysis.
Dialysis is an artificial process used for filtering blood in the human body. This treatment is introduced to a patient when their kidneys can no longer perform this function. It helps to get rid of the body’s metabolic wastes and controls the blood pressure.

- The bulb has two thick contact wires in the center with a thin wire attached between them. This thin wire is called filament.
- One of the thick wires is connected to the metal case at the base of the bulb and the other is connected to the metal tip at the center of the base. These two form the terminals.
- When electricity is passed through the terminals of the bulb, the filament gets heated up and produces light.
- A bulb is said to be fused if the filament gets broken. Fused bulb doesn’t glow.
- The two terminals do not directly touch each other to avoid short circuit.

We take in air through our nostrils. When we inhale air, it passes through our nostrils into the nasal cavity. From the nasal cavity, the air reaches our lungs through the trachea. Lungs are present in the chest cavity. This cavity is surrounded by ribs on the sides. A large, muscular sheet called diaphragm forms the floor of the chest cavity.
Breathing involves the movement of the diaphragm and the rib cage. Breathing involves two steps:
During inhalation, ribs move up and outwards and diaphragm moves down. This movement increases space in our chest cavity and air rushes into the lungs. The lungs get filled with air. The muscles between the ribs contract causing the rib cage to move upward and outward.
During exhalation, ribs move down and inwards, while diaphragm moves up to its former position. This reduces the size of the chest cavity and air is pushed out of the lungs. As the chest cavity becomes smaller air is pushed out from the lungs. Take a deep breath. Keep your palm on the abdomen, feel the movement of abdomen.

Pollination: The transfer of pollen grains from anthers to stigma is called pollination. Pollination is of two types, viz. self pollination and cross pollination.
Self Pollination: When anthers of the same flower are transferred to the stigma; it is called self pollination.
Cross Pollination: When anthers from a different flower are transferred to the stigma; it is called cross pollination. The flowers can be on the same plant or on different plants. Cross pollination is the norm in most of the plants. Plants need help from various agents of pollination to carry out cross pollination. Wind, insects, birds and other animals play the role of agent of pollination.

- Faulty Insulation: Old or damaged insulation allows neutral and live wires to touch, which can cause a short circuit. Nail and screw punctures as well as age can cause wire casings or insulation to deteriorate and allow short circuits.
- Loose Connections: Attachments can loosen, sometimes allowing neutral and live wires to touch. Fixing faulty wire connections is difficult and sometimes requires working with live wires.
- Appliances: Old or broken appliances can develop shorts over time. Short circuits in appliances can occur in the plugs, in the power cords or inside the device. It’s best to have a technician look at shorts in larger appliances like ovens and dishwashers.

The rainbow is caused by the refraction (breaking up) of light into an infinite number of colors, not just seven. It does present all other colors, but the human eye cannot see and the mind cannot comprehend all of them, so the brain just separates out the main ones and we give them the names we all know: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
