Plants respond to stimuli by growing in a particular direction and because of the directional growth it appears as if the plant is moving. In sensitive plants, the plants move its leaves in response to touch . Some cells change shape by changing the amount of water in them and as a result the cells either shrink or swell and therefore change shapes.

A tropism is a response that an organism makes to a stimulus. An example of a common tropism in plants is phototropism (or light response). Plants grow towards light sources, and if the direction of light is changed, the plant will also change its direction of growth to accommodate for survival.

1) Soil erosion can be prevented by preventing large scale cutting down of forest trees. The large scale cutting down of forest trees is called deforestation. So soil erosion can be prevented by deforestation.
2) Soil erosion can be prevented by afforestation (large scale growing of forest trees in place of cut down trees).New trees should be planted in place of the cut down trees. And this tree cover will prevent soil erosion of the forest land.
3) Soil erosion can be prevented by increasing the green cover (vegetation) around us by planting more trees and plants ourselves.

There is a uneven distribution of water over the globe because of uneven rainfall and different climatic conditions in different areas. In areas with slight colder climate the water vapour get condensed easily and hence fall as a rain on the earth and hence some areas due to hotter climate does not recieve rain which effect the distribution of water on the earth.

Linear momentum is defined as the product of a system’s mass multiplied by its velocity. In symbols, linear momentum is expressed as p = mv.
Momentum is directly proportional to the object’s mass and also its velocity. Thus the greater an object’s mass or the greater its velocity, the greater its momentum. Momentum p is a vector having the same direction as the velocity v. The SI unit for momentum is kg · m/s.

Chromosomes are thread-like organized structures located inside the nucleus of both animal and plant cells. Each chromosome is made of the combination of proteins and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
Chromosomes basically control all the activities of a living cell. DNA present on the chromosome not only carries most of the genetic information but also controls the hereditary transference.
