Control and co-ordination in the body is of two types i.e nervous control and hormonal control. Nervous control is rapid. It takes place through electrical signals called nerve impulses. The hormonal control is through chemical messengers called hormones secreted by endocrine (ductless) glands and carried by blood to the target organs.

Absorption: The digested food material passes into the blood vessels in the walls of small intestine. This process is called absorption. The inner walls of small intestine have millions of tiny, finger-like outgrowths called villi which increase the surface area for rapid absorption of digested food. Each villus has a network of blood vessels which absorbs the digested food materials into the blood flowing through them.

Villi are finger-like outgrowths on the inner walls of small intestine. The villi increase the surface area for absorption of the digested food. Each villus has a network of thin and small blood vessels close to its surface. The surface of the villi absorbs the digested food materials. The absorbed substances are transported via the blood vessels to different organs of the body.

Experiment to show the effect of saliva on starch
- Two test tubes were taken and were labeled A and B.
- In test tube A one teaspoon full of boiled rice was kept.
- In test tube B one teaspoon full of boiled rice which were chewed for 3-5 minutes were kept.
- 3-4 ml of water was added to both the tubes.
- Then 2-3 drops of iodine solution was added to both test tubes A and B.
Observation:
- The test tube A shows blue – black colour whereas test tube B does not show this colour.
Conclusion:
- Since test tube B has boiled rice which were chewed for 3-5 minutes, the saliva present in mouth has acted upon starch to break down into sugars. So it does not show any colour in presence of iodine solution.
- Boiled rice in test tube A has not been exposed to saliva, so starch is present which is indicated by blue-black colour on addition of iodine solution.

Winds or wind currents are generated by two factors:
- Uneven heating between Poles and Equator
- Centre of the earth is called Equator and the two extreme positions are Poles.
- Poles are cooler than equator as highest intensity of the sun’s heat and light falls on the equator and it reduces as we go either side of equator towards the poles.
- Cooler air from surrounding areas of the equator comes towards the equator to fill the place of warm air which rises up due to sun’s heating.
- Similarly, cooler air from poles comes towards the surrounding areas as the surrounding areas have air warmer than the poles.
- These winds from north to equator and south to equator are not straight as their direction change due to earth’s rotation on its axis.
- Uneven heating between Land and Water
- This occurs in the coastal areas.
- Sea Breeze: This causes the wind to move from Sea towards Land and the process continues during the day. These are also called Monsoon winds.
- Land Breeze:This causes the wind to move from Land towards Sea and the process continues during the night.

Photosynthesis is important to us because due to this process plants prepare food and the food prepared by plant makes the plant go healthier and then it produces fruits which we eat. Think if there were no process of photosynthesis plants would not produce fruit, which we eat. So indirectly the absense of photosynthesis will affect us.
