If the time taken by one pendulum to reach its mean position from the extreme position is 0.25 seconds then a pendulum will move to two extreme positions from one mean position only.

That will means that the total time period = 2 * 0.25 = 0.50 seconds.

Since, a pendulum will move from mean to the extreme, extreme to mean, mean to the extreme and again extreme to mean, it will cover 2 cycles.

Hence, 2 * .50 = 1

Many people in our country still do not have an access to proper sanitation facilities. They defecate in the open, on dry riverbeds, on railway tracks, near fields and many a time directly in water.

Poor sanitation and contaminated drinking water is the cause of a large number of diseases. Untreated human excreta is a health hazard and cause water pollution and soil pollution. When both the surface water and groundwater get polluted it becomes the most common route for water borne diseases like cholera, typhoid, polio, meningitis, hepatitis and dysentery.

Spelling of Physical and Chemical change

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 4 months ago

Physical Change: Change in which only physical properties of a substance change and no new substance is formed is called Physical Change. Most of the physical changes are reversible, this means we can get the substance back even after the change.
Examples: Folding of a paper sheet: A paper can be folded or unfolded, and hence it is an example of physical change. Moreover, no new substance is formed in this process, so it is a physical change.

Chemical changes: Changes in which chemical properties of substance change and a new substance is formed are called chemical changes. Some of the chemical changes are irreversible. Even in case of reversible changes in which chemical properties of substance change and a new substance is formed are called chemical changes. Some of the chemical changes are irreversible.
Example: Burning of wax is chemical change

Advantages of ploughing:

 1. The loose soil allows the plant roots to penetrate freely and deeper into the soil so that plants are held more firmly to the ground.
 2. The loose soil allows the roots of the plants to breathe easily.
 3. The loose soil helps in the growth of worms and microbes present in the soil as they help in turning and loosening of soil.
 4. Ploughing also uproots and buries the weeds standing in the field and thereby suffocates them to death.
 5. The loosening and turning of soil during ploughing brings the nutrient rich soil to the top so that the plants can use these nutrients.

Sea divers carry oxygen gas cylinders along with them because there is no free oxygen in the sea water since the little dissolved oxygen present in water can't be used for breathing by divers. It can be used only by aquatic animals.

Waterlogging occurs whenever the soil is so wet that there is insufficient oxygen in the pore space for plant roots to be able to adequately respire. ... There is no universal level of soil oxygen that can identify waterlogged conditions for all plants.
There are at least two reasons why overwatering can harm plants. One reason is a lack of oxygen in a waterlogged soil damages or kills plant roots. Plant roots require oxygen for cellular respiration. You could say plant roots "suffocate" without oxygen. Another reason is that anaerobic microbes in a waterlogged soil produce toxic waste products that can harm plant roots. Thus, even if the plant roots have sufficient oxygen that they obtain internally from aboveground, the roots could still be damaged by the microbial waste products. Microbes in waterlogged soils also promote conversion of some mineral nutrients from nontoxic to toxic forms. For example, in waterlogged soils, nitrate is converted to ammonium, sulfate to sulfide and manganese ion +4 to manganese ion +2.

The common ancestor of humans and chimpanzees evolved in different ways to produce the present forms.

Evolution produces more diverse and complex body forms over time, but the newly formed species are not more progressive than the already existing ones. So, it is wrong to say that evolution produces progressive higher forms from lower ones.

All human beings, whether fair skinned or dark skinned, belong to the same species i.e. Homo sapiens that originated in Africa.

The human ancestors gradually migrated from Africa to various parts of the world like Asia, Europe, Australia and America. Thus, they spread to different parts of the Earth and adapted as best as they could to their environmental conditions.

The insectivorous plants grow in soil which do not contain sufficient nitrogen mineral. These plants (e.g. pitcher plant) are green and carry out photosynthesis to obtain a part of the food required by them. But they do not get the nitrogen from the soil in which they grow. So, insectivorous or carnivorous plants feed on insects to obtain the nitrogen needed for their growth.

Sodium hydroxide is a base and hydrochloric acid is an acid. When solution of sodium hydroxide is mixed with the solution of hydrochloric acid, both neutralize each other and common salt (Sodium chloride) is formed. Since, it is an exothermic reaction, so reaction mixture becomes slightly hot. The reaction involved in this can be written as follows:

HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H2O
