The elephant has adapted to the rainforests in its own unique way. It has a nose in the form of a long trunk which is equipt with a strong sense of smell. The elephant picks up its food using this. Moreover, it has modified teeth in the form of tusks that enable the elephant to tear down the barks of trees which are used as food. The elephant has large ears that not only help it pick up even the softest of sounds but also keep it warm in the humid and extremely hot climatic conditions that persist in the rainforests.

Extracellular digestion - This takes place within the lumen of the digestive system, outside the cells. It occurs in all higher animals like vertebrates, annelids, arthropods etc.

.. ... 6 years, 3 months ago

Extracellular digestion is a process in which saprobionts feed by secreting enzymes through the cell membrane onto the food. The enzymes catalyze the digestion of the food into molecules small enough to be taken up by passive diffusion, transport, or phagocytosis. Since digestion occurs outside the cell, it is said to be extracellular. It takes place either in the lumen of the digestive system, in a gastric cavity or other digestive organ, or completely outside the body.

When there is a storm, there are heavy winds and these heavy winds pass over the house. They create low pressure.

Now when the high pressure inside the house comes in contact with the low pressure outside the house, it tries to fill it but gets stuck and due to this excessive force of the air pressure, severe damage can be caused to the house if the windows and doors are left open.

Because in coastal areas has high moisture that enhensis the process of rusting

Gaurav Seth 6 years, 3 months ago

  • We know that for rusting, the presence of both oxygen and water (water vapour) is essential. Thus, in coastal areas, the air contains high moisture which means more humid environment and rusting becomes faster. Whereas in deserts, moisture in air is less, hence rusting of iron is very slow there.
