The law of reflection are -
1. angle of incident is equal to angle of reflection.
2. incident ray, reflected ray and normal all lies on the same plane
Activity
Place a plane mirror on the table. Take a paper sheet and make a small hole in its centre. Make sure that the light in the room is not bright. Hold the sheet normal to
the table. Take another sheet and place it on the table in contact with the vertical mirror. Draw a normal line on the second sheet from the mirror. Now, light a torch on the mirror through the small hole such that the ray of light falls on the normal at the bottom of the mirror. When the ray from this hole is incident on the mirror, it gets reflected in a certain direction. You can easily observe the incident ray, reflected ray and the normal to the mirror at the point of incidence on the sheet placed on the table. This shows that the incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal to the surface at the point of incidence all lie in the same plane.

Electric current flows through the coil when the switch is ON, and the iron core acts as an electromagnet. The iron core attracts the hammer towards it. The hammer hits the bell and produces a sound. The circuit breaks at the screw contact when the hammer moves towards the iron core. At this point, the iron core ceases to be an electromagnet. The hammer is pulled back to its original position due to the spring action of the steel rod, and then touches the contact again to complete the circuit. The circuit is completed and current flows through the coil again, and the hammer strikes the bell again. The process repeats itself and you hear a ringing sound since the hammer keeps hitting the bell, until the switch is released.

There are various reasons for which we should be vigilant about matters related to forests.
- A decrease in forest area would lead to an increase in carbon dioxide in air. This will lead to an increase of earth’s temperature.
- Soil erosion would occur if there are no forests.
- Floods would be more frequent in absence of forests.
- Forests provide shelter and food to animals. When forests are adversely affected, the habitats of wild animals are also adversely affected.
- Therefore, we need to conserve our forests.

When we touch a steel rod and a paper simultaneously in winter, we feel the rod is comparatively colder because though the temperature of both steel rod and paper are same, as steel being a good conductor of heat, heat from our hand flows to steel but there is no transfer of heat from our hand to paper as it is a insulator. So we don't feel cold when we touch a paper but we do when we touch a steel rod.

An electric circuit is a path in which electrons (or current) flow.
- If the circuit is incomplete or broken, the current doesn’t flow. This type of circuit is called an Open Circuit.
- If the circuit is complete, the current flows. This type of circuit is called a Closed Circuit.
