Short answer is : The green pigments present at the surface of leaves are called chlorophyll .

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

Chlorophyll is a green coloured pigment found in plants. It is also called as the ‘green blood of plants’ due to the fact that it has very similar chemical structure to Haemoglobin in human blood. It is a complex organic molecule, responsible for photosynthesis in plants and in some other organisms. All the organisms get food only because of chlorophyll in plants.

When the path of light is obstruct by an opaque object it forms Shadow.

Parth Uniyal 5 years, 5 months ago

A shadow is formed when an opaque object comes the path of light . So the dark portion on the screen behind the opaque object is called shadow

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

An opaque object blocks the light falling on it. This creates an area of darkness on the side of the object away from the source of light. A translucent object also creates a faint area of darkness. An area of darkness formed by an opaque object obstructing light is called a shadow.

Polar regions have the coldest climate in the world. The air is so cold in polar regions of the earth that water falls there as snow. So, the air contains very little water vapour (or moisture) at the poles. Thus, the polar climate is extremely cold and dry.

Nitric Acid is a strong acid with chemical formula HNO3. It is also known as the spirit of niter and aqua fortis. In its pure form, it is colourless but as it gets older it turns into a yellow cast. This colour appears due to the decomposition of Nitric acid to oxides of nitrogen and water. It is highly corrosive and toxic. It causes severe skin burn. It reacts with hydroxides, metals, and oxides to form nitrate salts.

When electric current is passed through a conductor, it generates heat due to the resistance it offers to the current flow.

  • Appliances which require heating effect have conductors or the heating elements.
  • Heating elements have high melting point so that they do not get damaged due to the heat generated.
  • These elements have also low tendency to react with oxygen to avoid catching fire.
