In this question, the number of steps going up and down are known for both the cases. Monkey will reach ninth step in 11 jumps. The monkey will reach back the top step after 5 jumps. iii) Moves in part (i): - 3 + 2 - 3 + 2 - 3 + 2 - 3 + 2 - 3 + 2 – 3 = -8 which represents the monkey going down by 8 steps.

Water tank has steps inside it. A monkey is sitting on the topmost step (i.e. the first step). The water level is at the ninth step. (i) He jumps 3 steps down and then jumps back 2 steps up. In how many jumps will he reach the water level? (ii) After drinking water, he wants to go back. For this, he jumps 4 steps up and then jumps back 2 steps down in every move. In how many jumps will he reach back the top step? (iii) If the number of steps moved down is represented by negative integers and the number of steps moved up by positive integers, represent his moves in part (i) and (ii) by completing the following; (a) – 3 + 2 – ... = – 8 (b) 4 – 2 + ... = 8. In (a) the sum (– 8) represents going down by eight steps. So, what will the sum 8 in (b) represent?

Mohan deposit amount = Rs 2000 He withdrawns next day = Rs 1642 therefore, the balance = 2000-1642\ =\ 3582000−1642 = 358 thus, the balance in Mohan's account after withdrawal = Rs 358

At Srinagar, Temperature on monday = -5\degree C−5°C on tuesday, temperature dropped by 2\degree C2°C therefore, temperature on tuesday = -5\degree C-2\degree C\ =\ -7\degree C−5°C−2°C = −7°C On wednesday, temperature rose up by 4\degree C4°C therefore, temperature on wednesday = -7\degree C+4\degree C\ \ =\ -3\degree C−7°C+4°C = −3°C thus, the temperature on tuesday = -7\degree C−7°C and the temperature on wednesday =-3\degree C−3°C

So mode is 14 . To find out median we have to arrange the raw data in organised data . Organised data = 12,12,13,13,14,14,14,16,19 . So median = 14 .
