AC=BC. (since it is an isosceles triangle, two sides are equal)

by Pythagoras theorem,

AB² = AC² + BC²

we know AC = BC,

therefore substitute

AB² = AC² + AC²

98 = 2AC²

98/2 = AC²

49 = AC²

therefore,. AC = √49

AC = 7

AC = BC = 7

To prove;- △ABC≅△ADC

Proof:-

In △ABC and △ADC,

AB=AD(Given)

CB=CD(Given)

AC=AC(Common)

∴△ABC≅△ADC(By SSS congruence property)
