A + B = 20

A - B = 10

-----------------

2A = 30 ( Added 2 Equations)

A = 30/2 = 15

A + B = 20

B= 20 - A = 20 - 15 = 5

Associative law states that the order of grouping the numbers does not matter.
In case of subtraction,
a-(b-c) ≠ (a-b) – c.
Example: 2- (3-4) = (2-3) – 4
2 + 1 = -1-4
3 = -5, which is not true.
So, associative law doesn’t hold for subtraction.
