First combine the like terms (eg : x,2x, 5x is a like term.,, 5y,34y, ) Combine and add them. X+2x+5x = 8x (if there is nothing with x we consider it 1) •5y+34y= 38y. • 8x+38y is the answer as we can't solve it further because the terms are unlike terms. Even if one term is x^2 (x sq.) And other has the variable 'x' we will still consider it unlike. ●●● hope it helped

Hence, the required solution be x = 2 and y = - 1

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

Here, the given equations are

3x - y = 7 ...(i)

2x + 5y = - 1 ...(ii)

Now, multiplying (i) by 5 and (ii) by (-1), we get

15x - 5y = 35

- 2x - 5y = 1

On subtraction, we get

17x = 34

⇒ x = 34/17

⇒ x = 2

Now, putting x = 2 in (i), we get

3 (2) - y = 7

⇒ 6 - y = 7

⇒ y = 6 - 7

⇒ y = - 1

Hence, the required solution be

x = 2 and y = - 1

OR

Hence, given pair of linear equations has a unique solution.

Given length of rectangular garden = 45 m and breadth = 30 m Therefore, Area = ( l × b) =( 45 × 30) sq m = 1350 sq m length of the rectangular garden including path =45 + (2.5 + 2.5)= 50m and, breadth =30+(2.5+2.5)=35m Therefore, Area of the rectangular garden including path= (50×35) sq m= 1750 sq m. So,the area of the path = (1750 - 1350) m = 400 m
