It is a story in which it is saying about shopkeeper named person and he is having a pen shop in which slot of birds are put in a cage so whenever any customer come to his shop there is a bell which jingles but a street banking one day and the bell didn't Jingle he was surprised and he thought that he came from the thin air then he ask four something in a cage semester person said that what you mean then he said that he wants something that flies then Mr puzzle shouted or birds yeah these are 2 dogs these cost 5.5 dollars and then he said that he only have $5 so Mr person agreed that he will give 845 dollars then he said that strangers said that she was present for 10 years and my hard work he made this $5 and he gave the $5 and bought to down and after coming from the shop he his freed away the birds out it is because he know the value of freedom

the answer of this question is not in the chapter itself maya thinks he is a crook on the run because of her imagination and nishad thinks he is not because he is friendly.your question is good but there is no answer but the evidence that maya gives proofs 90 percent that he is a crook on the run but who knows.

Maya had only some facts about Mr.Nath for being a crook .But maya doesn't had the proper proof to prove that Mr.Nath was a crook.As anybody can live alone,cant talk with anyone or can order simple meals everyday etc,but this doesn't proves that anyone can be a crook .Hence,Mr.Nath wasn't a crook on the run.
