The number of sheets of paper available for making notebooks is 75,000. Each sheet makes 8 pages of a notebook. Each notebook contains 200 pages. How many notebooks can be made from the paper available? The number of sheets of paper available for making notebooks = 75,000 Total number of pages available = 8 × 75,000                                                         = 600000 pages Given, Each notebook contains 200 pages Total no. of notebooks can be made = 600000/200                                                                = 6000/2                                                                = 3000 note books can be made.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

It is given that each sheet makes 8 pages. Therefore, 75000 sheets will make,

75000 x 8 = 6,00,000 pages.

Hence, no. of pages available for making notebooks is 6,00,000.

It is given that 200 pages make one notebook. Therefore, 6,00,000 pages will make ,

600000  200 = 3000 notebooks.

Hence, 3000 notebooks can be made from the given sheets of paper.

rom As the name suggests, this memory allows only read operations and does not let us write anything on it. ROM is used to store low level machine functions — Microprograms, which increase the efficiency of processor. Unlike RAM, ROM retains its stored data even if the power goes off so it is non-volatile memory. ROM chip is supplied alongwith the computer system. It cannot be changed by the user. There are various types of ROMs which are available nowadays such as: (i) PROM — Programmable Read Only Memory: This type of ROM chip can be programmed according to the user by using a specialized software. Once it has been programmed, it cannot be altered further. (ii) EPROM — Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory: This type of ROM can be erased and re-programmed again and again by using specialized software. The process of erasing is done either by using ultraviolet light (UPROM — Ultraviolet PROM) or electricity (EAPROM — Electrically Alterable PROM). (iii) EEPROM — Electrically Erasable PROM: This type of ROM can be re-programmed with special electric pulses.

A change which can happen backward, that is, can be reversed is called a reversible change. If you keep water in the freezer for some time, it transforms into ice. But as soon as you take it out of the freezer, it turns into water again. This is a reversible change.
