A bulb lights up when the circuit is complete. In an electric circuit, the direction of flow of electricity is taken to be from the positive terminal of the cell to the negative terminal of the cell. A bulb does not glow when the circuit is open because electricity cannot pass through it.

Air contains some gases, water vapours and dust particles that stick to transparent glass of windows. These particles also attract other outdoor elements such as pollen, etc to collect on glass and make a layer. This is why, transparent glass if not wiped off appear hazy.

In the springtime, leaves soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, converting the gas into organic carbon compounds. Come autumn, trees shed their leaves, leaving them to decompose in the soil as they are eaten by microbes. Over time, decaying leaves release carbon back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide.
