All the changes around us cannot be reversed but the changes which can form the ‘original substance’ again are called reversible changes. Solid state changes into liquid state during the melting of ice into water. If water is kept in a refrigerator, it again changes into solid ice. When we boil water, it changes into steam which on cooling, again converts into water. This shows a state of change from liquid into gas and again into liquid. Thus change of state of water is a reversible change.

The air contains moisture. In early morning specially in winter the temperature is less i.e. , air is cool. At this temperature air cannot hold all the moisture in it. The excess moisture condenses on cool surface like leaves, grass, car glasses, etc in the form of dew drops. Hence we see dew drops on winter morning.

Take a beaker half-filled with clean water. Put a coin in beaker of water. Place the beaker undisturbed for a few minutes where enough light is present. Now, observe the coin immersed in water from the top of the beaker. Are you able to see the coin? You can clearly see the coin immersed in water. This proves that water is a transparent liquid.

The precautions to be taken during vermicomposting includes :
1.Before producing vermicompost, an appropriate site should be selected for it. A shaded area that is not reachable by flood is ideal. Also material sources must be near so that the worms can compost them easily.
2. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight as it will decrease the moisture level of the soil thereby also killing the worms within it. Constant spraying of water is must to maintain the moisture of the soil.
3.The worms should be protected from being eaten by rodent likes rats, insects like ants and birds that feed specifically on worms.

Decantation is a process, of separation of insoluble solids from liquid. The suspension of solid particles in liquid is allowed to stand for some time. The solid particles then settle down at the bottom of the container and clean water goes up. Without disturbing the settled particles the clean water is transferred into other container.
uses of decantation:
(i) Decantation is used to separate insoluble solids or liquid from liquid. Rain water is a mixture of mud and water. It is purified by decantation.
(ii) Oil and water also get separated by this method because oil floats up.
