Materials that allow electricity to pass through them are called conductors. Since metals are good conductors of electricity, Copper is the most commonly used material for making connecting wires.
Materials that do not allow electricity to pass through them are called insulators. Some common insulators are glass, air, plastic, cotton, thermocol, wood and rubber. As insulators do not conduct electricity they are used to protect us from the dangerous effects of electricity.

The process by which a species becomes better suited to its environment is called adaptation. It occurs when natural selection acts on a heritable trait, or characteristic, that allows an individual to better survive in its environment. Organisms with such a trait are more likely to thrive and reproduce in that environment and pass the beneficial trait on to their offspring.

Stems bear leaves but root cannot.
In stems, side branches arise from axillary buds. These buds are located at the nodes in the leaf axil (the point where the leaf attaches to the stem)
Lateral roots, on the other hand, arise from deep within the root's tissue, near the central core. Roots don't have nodes, and they don't have buds.
