Excessive rain causes floods. The excessive rainfall due to heavy rains leads to many problems. Some of them are:
- Heavy rains in the city lead to waterlogging of roads and streets which causes inconvenience to the people.
- Heavy rains may cause floods as the river water starts overflowing from its banks and spread over a large area of land.
- The animals living in water are carried away by the fast flowing flood waters.
- Heavy rains also kill the animals living in soil as they do not get air to breathe when the soil gets covered with flood water. The people living in areas having drought conditions face many difficulties. Some of the problems faced by people are: i. In drought conditions, the soil does not have sufficient moisture to grow crops leading to shortage of food for people. ii. In drought conditions, the vegetation such as grass and other fodder does not grow well leading to shortage of fodder for domestic animals.iii. Due to shortage of food and fodder, many people living in drought areas migrate to other places along with their domestic animals in search of food and fodder. Some people and domestic animals may die of starvation.
So, we should supply food and fodder to the victims of drought.

Energy saved is energy generated. We cannot keep on producing non-renewable resources like petrol, diesel and electricity. So the need of the hour is the better utilization of existing resources. Energy depletion has become a global phenomenon at present time. The ever biggest problem that man has to face in near future is the energy crisis. Energy conservation is the most economical solution to shortages. Energy conservation reduces energy consumption and energy demand per capita. It refers to the preservation and maintenance of natural resources like water, soil, forest and mineral oil to meet human needs with proper care given to aesthetics and recreations too.

Birds don't get shocked when they sit on electrical wires because they are not good conductors of electricity.
Their cells and tissues do not offer electrons an easier route than the copper wire they're already traveling along. As a result, the electricity bypasses the birds and keeps flowing along the wire instead.

In silver plating, the object (eg.spood) to be plated is made the cathode of an electrolytic cell. The anode is bar of silver metal and the electrodyte must contain Ag+ ions (i.e. AgNO3), so that when the direct current is passed through the cell, positive (Ag+) ions move towards the negative anode (spoon) where they are neutralized by e− and stick to spoon as silver metal.

Plants perform the function of photosynthesis, in which they liberate oxygen gas. Thus, animals depend on plants for getting oxygen gas for breathing.
The carbon dioxide of air being consumed by plants in photosynthesis is constantly put back into air by the respiration of animals and plants as well as by the burning of fuels by human beings. The plants depend on animals for getting carbon dioxide gas for photosynthesis.
Thus, plants and animals maintain the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in air and show their interdependence in nature.
