Heterogeneous mixtures is a type of mixture in which all the components are completely mixed and all the particles can be seen under a microscope. We can easily identify the components and more than one phase can be seen by naked eyes.

- Take a small quantity of the dal into test tube.
- Add 10 drops of water and shake the test tube.
- Using a dropper add two drops of copper sulphate solution to the test tube.
- Add 10 drops of caustic soda solution and shake the test tube.

Steps in making cotton yarn
- The raw cotton is loosened and cleaned; to remove straw and dried leaves.
- The cleaned cotton is then fed into a machine. The cotton fibre are combed, straightened and converted into a rope like structure called sliver.
- The sliver of cotton fibre is converted into yarn by spinning using machines.
Weaving: The process of arranging two sets of yarn together to make a fabric is called weaving. The big reels of yarn are called bobbins. These bobbins are used for weaving the cloth. Cloth is woven on looms. After that they bleached and dyed to give a finish.
Knitting: Knitting can be done by hand and machine. Just two yarns are used in knitting, while more than two yarns are used in weaving. Sweater, socks, scarf and caps are knitted from the wool.

When the seeds begin to grow (or germinate) by developing roots they are called sprouts. Sprouting means the process by which seed germinate into sprouts. Some seeds that sprout is Moong, Black Gram (chana), green Gram, etc.

Vitamin C is easily destroyed by excessive heat and water, as well as exposure to air. Water soluble vitamins including Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C are easily destroyed by heat. Hence it is important to cover foods while cooking.

- Mix the salt and sand mixture with water.
- The salt will dissolve in water whereas the sand won't dissolve.
- After sometime, the sand would settle down. This is Sedimentation.
- The water mixture which contains salt can be now poured out. This is Decantation.
- Then heat the water such that it vaporizes. (Evaporation). Salt is left behind in the bowl.
- Then cool down the water vapor using a plate of ice (as shown in the figure). The vapour condenses to form water (Condensation) and can be collected in another beaker.

No not everybody around us gets enough food to eat. There are many people who are too poor to afford at least one meal a day.
While you can see rich people wasting food as they have more than needed, there is one section in the society who often sleeps without any food.
They don’t have enough to get basic necessities in life including a bread to eat.
This is happened because of economic imbalance in the society, and increased property levels, illiteracy, rack of employments are also responsible for this problem.
