  1. Divisibility by 4
    The number formed by last two digits = 52

    {tex}\because{/tex} Remainder is 0
    {tex}\therefore{/tex}  52 is divisible by 4
    {tex}\therefore{/tex}726352 is divisible by 4 because a no. is divisible by 4 if the no. formed by its last two digits i.e (ones and tens) is divisible by 4
  2. Divisibility by 8.
    The number formed by last three digits = 352

    {tex}\because{/tex} Remainder is 0
    {tex}\therefore{/tex} 352 is divisible by 8.
    {tex}\therefore{/tex} 726352 is divisible by 8 because a no. with four or more digits is divisible by 8 if the no. formed by its last three digits is divisible by 8.

length of the rectangular Courtyard = 20m 16 cm = 2016 cm

Breadth of the rectangular Courtyard = 15m 60 cm = 1560 cm

HCF(2016, 1560) =?

Prime factorisation of 2016 and 1560 are as follows:

2016 = 2 × 2 ×2 ×2 ×2 ×3 ×3 ×7

1560 = 2 × 2 ×2 ×3 ×5 ×13

→HCF(2016, 1560) = 2 × 2 ×2 ×3 = 24

Least possible number of stones to be paved

= Area of a rectangular courtyard ÷ Area of a square stone

= (2016 × 1560) ÷ (24)2

{tex}\therefore{/tex} L.C.M. = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 = 288.
Multiples of 288 are :
288 × 1 = 288, 288 × 2 = 576, 288 × 3 = 864, 288 × 4 = 1152, ......
Hence, the smallest four digit number which is divisible by 18, 24 and 32 is 1152.
