Q1=3 matchsticks

Gaurav Seth 6 years, 3 months ago

4.Try to construct triangles using match sticks. Some are shown here.

Can you make a triangle with:

(a)3 matchsticks?

(b)4 matchsticks?

(c)5 matchsticks?

(d)6 matchsticks?

(Remember you have to use all the available matchsticks in each case)

If you cannot make a triangle, think of reasons for it.

Answer:

(a) 3 matchsticks

This is an acute angle triangle and it is possible with 3 matchsticks to make a triangle because sum of two sides is greater than third side.

(b) 4 matchsticks

This is a square, hence with four matchsticks we cannot make triangle.

(c) 5 matchsticks

This is an acute angle triangle and it is possible to make triangle with five matchsticks, in this case sum of two sides is greater than third side.

(d) 6 matchsticks

This is an acute angle triangle and it is possible to make a triangle with the help of 6 matchsticks because sum of two sides is greater than third side.

Question will be solved like that - ×-=+.so when you will you add 2-[-4]=6. And then sign of the bigger number. The bigger number is -4 then the symbol will come of minus then the answer is equal to -6.

Pankhuri Sinha 6 years, 3 months ago

It is minus and minus and it is a rule that - × - = + So, 2-(-4) is 2 + 4 = 6

Jigyasha Suman 6 years, 3 months ago

6 because whenever there are 2 minus signs they merge in together to form a single plus sign hooe this helps

a × (b + c) = a × b + a × c

Distributive property of multiplication explains the distributing ability of an operation over another mathematical operation within a bracket. It can be either distributive property of multiplication over addition or distributive property of multiplication over subtraction.

Let’s consider the following example.

(–2) × (3 + 5) = –2 × 8 = –16 and;

[(–2) × 3] + [(–2) × 5] = (– 6) + (–10) = –16

So, (–2) × (3 + 5) = [(–2) × 3] + [(–2) × 5]

In general, for any integers a, b and c, a × (b + c) = a × b + a × c

Numbers which has HCF as 1

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 4 months ago

Set of numbers which do not have any other common factor other than 1 are called co-prime or relatively prime numbers. This means those numbers whose HCF is 1.
For example, 8 and 9 have no other common factor other than 1 so they are co-prime numbers.

In equilateral triangle all angle of triangle are equal. so

Let each angle is x.
Now, we know that sum of all angles of triangle is 180o
So, x + x + x = 180
3x = 180
{tex}x = \frac{{180}}{3} = 60^\circ {/tex}
So, each angle is equal to 60o.
