Line segment - a line segment is a part of which have 2 end points

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

  • A part of a line with one end-point is called a ray. It has a start point but no definite end point, and thus difficult to measure. It goes indefinitely in one direction.
  • A line is a set of points that extends in two opposite directions. Both ends of a line can be extended indefinitely. A line has no endpoints.
  • A line segment is a part of a straight line that connects two points. It is the shortest path between the two points. It has a definite length, that is its length can be measured.

In mathematics, a negative number is a real number that is less than zero. Negative numbers represent opposites. If positive represents a movement to the right, negative represents a movement to the left.

For example, −3 represents a negative quantity with a magnitude of three, and is pronounced "minus three" or "negative three".

Absolute value of an integer is its numerical value without taking the sign into consideration.

The absolute values of -9 = 9; the absolute value of 5 = 5 and so on.

The symbol used to denote the absolute value is, two vertical lines (| |), one on either side of an integer.

Therefore, if 'a' represents an integer, its absolute value is represented by |a| and is always non-negative.

Example:

"6" is 6 away from zero,
and "−6" is also 6 away from zero.

So the absolute value of 6 is 6,
and the absolute value of −6 is also 6

Lakshmi Priya Manorenj 5 years, 5 months ago

Total quantity of curd the vessel contains =4litre 500 millilitre Quantity of curd the glass could be filled =25ml 1l=1000ml 4l 500ml=4500ml No. of glasses required =4500ml/25 =180 glasses So, 180 glasses are required for 4500ml of curd

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 5 months ago

Total quantity of curd = 4 litre and 500 ml
1 litre = 1000 ml

Total quantity in ml = (4*1000) ml + 500 ml
= 4000 + 500
= 4500 ml

Capacity of each glass = 25 ml
Total number of glasses can be filled = Total quantity of curd/Capacity of each glass
⇒ 4500/25
= 180 glasses

So, 4500 ml of curd can be filled in 180 glasses.

Distance between school and home = 1875m Distance between home and school = 1875m
Total distance covered in one day = (1875m+1875m) = 3750m
Distance covered in six days = 3750 x 6 = 22500m
Therefore, 22 km 500 m distance covered in six days.
