According to this property, when we add two integers, the answer will remain unchanged even if the position of the numbers are changed. Let A and B are two integers, then;

Hence,

A + B = B + A

As per this property, when we multiply to two integers, the answer we get after multiplication will remain the same, even if the position of the integers are interchanged. Let A and B are two integers, then;

A × B = B × A

The commutative property states that the numbers on which we operate can be moved or swapped from their position without making any difference to the answer. The property holds for Addition and Multiplication, but not for subtraction and division. Addition. We learned that the commutative property of addition tells us numbers can be added in any order and you will still get the same answer. The formula for this property is a + b = b + a. For example, adding 1 + 2 or 2 + 1 will give us the same answer according to the commutative property of addition.

Algebra is a branch of mathematics dealing with symbols and the rules for manipulating those symbols. In elementary algebra, those symbols (today written as Latin and Greek letters) represent quantities without fixed values, known as variables. The numbers and equations gifted by Algebra are frequently used in almost everywhere in this world(shocking, No?). Take, for example; you are out for grocery shopping. Now, the addition and subtraction are the only sources to help you keep yourself budgeted with the items in the cart.

An integer is a whole number that can be either positive or negative. Which means integers cannot be fractions and decimals (which you will learn later). Positive integers are basically the everyday numbers that we use to count things, for example ‘3 apples’, where 3 is a positive integer. As a result, positive integers are also sometimes called ‘counting numbers’. Negative integers are numbers that have a minus sign as a prefix, for example, -3 is a negative integer.

Any of a set of straight lines passing through one point .

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 5 months ago

In geometry, a ray can be defined as a part of a line that has a fixed starting point but no end point. It can extend infinitely in one direction.

On its way to infinity, a ray may pass through more than one point.
