On mountains the climate is very harsh and the paths are very rocky , steep , rough and not suitable for transportation. The soil is infertile too. PLAINS - The plains have well developed cities and the chances of earthquakes and landslides are less. The climate is hot in summers and cold in winters. The paths are strong , flat , smooth and suitable of trqnsportation
