The patterns or stripes present on the body of animals match with their surroundings like grass, plants etc. These prevent animals from being spooted by predators easily. for eg when zebra hides itself behind the grass, these stripes confuse the predators in identifying it thereby provides protection.

A magnifying glass starts a fire through the use of heat from the sun. This is done by positioning the glass so that the sun's rays pass through the lens, forming a small point of light on a pile of dry kindling.

Frogs without ears hear with their mouth. Incoming sound waves make the eardrum vibrate, and the eardrum delivers these vibrations using the ossicles to the inner ear where hair cells translate them into electric signals sent to the brain. Newts, salamanders and snakes all lack ears, yet can hear. In fact, in the whole animal kingdom, only mammals are the group that have well defined ears. Others do have auditory organs, like a tympanum (basically an ear drum in place of the ear). Some examples : frogs, lizards, crocs, snakes, fishes, etc. Birds also have ears similar to ours, but without the external pinna.
