Functions of the stomata
- They allow the exchange of gases (CO2 and O2) with the atmosphere.
- Evaporation of water from the leaf surface occurs through the stomata. Thus, the stomata help in the process of transpiration.
- Based on the climatic conditions, it closes or opens its pores to maintain the moisture balance.
- Allows the intake of carbon dioxide and to give out oxygen during the process of photosynthesis.
- Stomata remains open during the day and closed at night. This closure at night prevents water from escaping through open pores.

fraction is used to represent the portion/part of the whole thing. It represents the equal parts of the whole. A fraction has two parts, namely numerator and denominator. The number on the top is called the numerator, and the number on the bottom is called the denominator. The numerator defines the number of equal parts taken, whereas the denominator defines the total number of equal parts in a whole.
For example, 5/10 is a fraction.
Here, 5 is a numerator
10 is a denominator

भारत में वर्षा ऋतु का आगमन जुलाई के महीने में होता है तथा सितंबर के महीने तक वर्षा होती रहती है । यह ऋतु किसानों के लिए वरदान सिद्ध होती है । वे इस ऋतु में खरीफ की फसल बोते हैं । वर्षा ऋतु वनस्पतियों के लिए भी वरदान होती है । वर्षा काल में पेड-पौधे हरे-भरे हो जाते हैं । वर्षा-जल से उनमें जीवन का संचार होता है । वन-उपवन और बाग-बगीचों में नई रौनक और नई जवानी आ जाती है । ताल-तलैयों व नदियों में वर्षा-जल उमड़ पड़ता है । धरती की प्यास बुझती है तथा भूमि का जलस्तर बढ़ जाता है । मेढक प्रसन्न होकर टर्र-टर्र की ध्वनि उत्पन्न करने लगते हैं । झींगुर एक स्वर में बोलने लगते हैं । वनों में मोरों का मनभावन नृत्य आरंभ हो जाता है । हरी- भरी धरती और बादलों से आच्छादित आसमान का दृश्य देखते ही बनता है । वर्षा ऋतु गर्मी से झुलसते जीव-समुदाय को शांति एवं राहत पहुंचाती है । लोग वर्षा ऋतु का भरपूर आनंद उठाते हैं ।
