A beast is an animal — and usually not a gentle or attractive one. You can also call a person a beast when they're behaving in a crude, savage, or horrible way. There are many types of beast in the world: dogs, cats, horses, monkeys, birds, and fish are all beasts.

Reference maps show the location of geographic boundaries, physical features of Earth, or cultural features such as places, cities, and roads. Political maps, physical maps, road maps, topographic maps, time zone maps, geologic maps, and zip code maps are all examples of reference maps. Physical maps show natural features such as mountains, lowlands, major rivers, seas, oceans and ecosystems like deserts and rainforests on a global scale. On a national scale, physical maps show relief and drainage features, such as rivers. Some maps show physical features that are experienced rather than seen.
