Solid matter is composed of tightly packed particles. A solid will retain its shape; the particles are not free to move around. Liquid matter is made of more loosely packed particles. Gaseous matter is composed of particles packed so loosely that it has neither a defined shape nor a defined volume.

Stars - They have their own light, They are hot ball of glowing gases Planet - They produce steady light, They are hard and rocky

Aakansha Singh 4 years, 4 months ago

The main difference between stars and planets is that stars have high temperatures compared to planets. ... Because they radiate energy, stars are very bright objects. Planets do not generate their own energy through nuclear reactions. They reflect some of the radiation coming from their parent star.

Condensation

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 5 months ago

The process of changing water vapour into water is called condensation.
Condensation is simply the process of change of the vapour from gaseous state to liquid when comes in contact of cool surface.
And this process can't be boiling as in boiling we have to provide heat and it is the change of liquid state into vapour form.
And the process is not evaporation as it also changes water into vapour.
Melting is not the required process as it is the change of state from solid to liquid.

A gas is a substance with no definite volume and no definite shape. Solids and liquids have volumes that do notchange easily. A gas, on the other hand, has a vol- ume that changes to match the volume of its container. The molecules in a gas are very far apart compared with the molecules in a solid or a liquid.

The maximum amount of solute that can dissolve in a known quantity of solvent at a certain temperature is its solubility. A solution is a homogeneous mixture of one or more solutes in a solvent. Sugar cubes added to a cup of tea or coffee is a common example of a solution. The property which helps sugar molecules to dissolve is known as solubility.

The atoms in solid are tightly bound to each other either in a regular geometric lattice like crystalline solids or irregular amorphous solid. This gives it structural rigidity and resistance to changes of shapes or volume.

There are three states of mater. 1. Solid. 2. Liquid. 3. Gas

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 5 months ago

A “state of matter” is a way to describe the behaviour of atoms and molecules in a substance.

There are three common states of matter:

  1. Solids – relatively rigid, definite volume and shape. In a solid, the atoms and molecules are attached to each other. They vibrate in place but don’t move around.
  2. Liquids – definite volume but able to change shape by flowing. In a liquid, the atoms and molecules are loosely bonded. They move around but stay close together.
  3. Gases – no definite volume or shape. The atoms and molecules move freely and spread apart from one another.
