Doctrine of lapse was a policy made by governor general Lord dalhousie in this policy if a king did not have any son to control his kingdom after him so his kingdom will became a part of the company territory The kingdoms that were annexed using this policy were :- Satara(1848) Sambalpur(1850) Udaipur(1852) Nagpur(1853) Jhansi(1854)

Doctrine of Lapse is a system which was created by the British Government. It meant that If the king of a kingdom does not have a son then the the british will take over the kingdom.
