II. Wolffia: Also known as Asian watermeal and duckweed, Wolffia Globosa is a species of flowering plant that grows on calm water surfaces of freshwater ponds, lakes and marshes. It is native to Asia and is also found in some parts of the Americas, as a native or naturalised species. These floating, rootless plants are the world's smallest flowering plants. An average individual plant is 0.6 mm long and 0.3 mm wide. It weighs about 150 micrograms, the approximate weight of 2-3 grains of table salt.
