The soil suitably levelled before sowing for the following reasons - 1.The ploughed field may have big pieces of soil called crumbs that need to be crushed. 2. Leveling also helps in the uniform distribution of water ( moisture) and manure. 3. Leveling prevents soil erosion. The levelled soil is not blown by wind or drained off by water.
