    weight of cake = 3 1/2 kg = 3500 grams

     

    number of children = 14

     

    share of each child

    = 3500/14

    = 250 grams

     

    1000 grams = 1 kg

    250 grams = x

     

    x = 250/1000

    x = 0.250 kg
