Fourth Generation Languages (4GLs) or Modern High-level Languages were developed to get closer to human language in terms of thinking and conceptualisation than any previous generation languages. It is independent of operating system. Some examples of 4GLS are SQL, Focus, PostScript, WAVE, Python, Ruby, Perl, and so on.
