If food is thrown away or wasted, it will cause harm to the soil.
Once they lose its freshness, the bacteria decompose them to produce harmful greenhouse gas which cause harm to the environment.
Besides that the contribution of the farmers who toil so hard to feed such a huge population is also wasted.
Also a huge part of the population cannot afford food.
