1) Their leaves are reduced into spines which prevents water loss and protects it from grazing animals. 2) Their roots are very long and they go deep into the sand in search of water. 3) Their stems store water which means they can stay without water for many days. 4) The stem of a cactus performs photosynthesis. 5) The stem also has a waxy coating on it.

Their roots are very lengthy , they take water from the ground water very deep into the ground
