Area of a rectangle = length×breadth. If length of a rectangle is 2 square centimetre, and breadth of a rectangle is four squares centimetre then area = length × breadth so, area is equal to 2×4=6. So, 6 square centimetre is the area of that rectangle.

To find the area of a rectangle, multiply its width by its height. If we know two sides of the rectangle that are different lengths, then we have both the height and the width.
