Cu do not react with dilute sulphuric acid as it comes behind hydrogen in the reactivity series. But with concentrated H 2 ​ SO 4 ​ it reacts to form CuSO 4 ​ and SO 2 ​ is evolved. Cu+2H 2 ​ SO 4 ​ (conc)→CuSO 4 ​ +SO 2 ​ +2H 2 ​ O
