Let the original price of the garment be Rs.x.

Cost of garment after reducing 15%=Rs.306

Now according to the question-

x−15% of x=306

⇒x−(15/100 × x)=306

⇒x−3x/ 20 =306

⇒(20x−3x)/20=306

⇒17x=6120

⇒x= 6120/17 =360

Hence the original price of the garment is  Rs.360.
