Sodium is stored in keresone bcoz, sodium in not to much hard ...that we can cut it by the khide also.... As souium is not too strong in texture but it is heighly reactive metal... When the sodium will come in contact with air, then the reaction between sodium and oxygen tools place and hydrogen gass is excreated.... So, sodium should not come concact with air ...so putted in keresone oil. ?If u r satisfied with my ans u can like it.. ?Thanks?

Sodium and Potassium are highly reactive metals and react vigorously with the oxygen, carbon dioxide and moisture present in the air such that it may even cause a fire. To prevent this explosive reaction, Sodium is kept immersed in kerosene because Sodium doesn’t react with kerosene.
